Chadd Charland’s grassroots campaign for Florida State House District 15 continues garnering the support of local labor unions and working people. In July, the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, Transportation Workers Local Union #435, North Florida, and the North Florida Building and Construction Trades Council officially endorsed the non-party affiliated candidate. These endorsements come on the heels of the Florida AFL-CIO and Florida Education Association.

“Working people support my campaign because I am a working person and will consider the interests of working people in every decision I will make as an elected official,” Charland said.

The North Florida Building and Construction Trades Council represents over 10,000 members and their families from various crafts.

Charland is running against incumbent Dean Black, one of the state legislature’s most ardent anti-worker, corporate funded, union busters.

“For too long, state government has overvalued corporations and money and undervalued labor and work when crafting legislation,” Charland added. “Dean Black, a millionaire, exemplifies these corrupted priorities. His personal wealth and investments from corporate political action committees fuel his campaign. In office, these are the interests he serves. If elected, I would work every day to bring the voice of working people and labor unions to the State House.”

District 15 includes all of Nassau County and portions of northern Duval County north of Interstate 295 by the Jacksonville International Airport, River City, as well as northwestern portions of Duval County including Baldwin.
